Extended Producers Responsibility' System

The Indian government, in collaboration with NGOs and trade groups, is developing a comprehensive ‘Extended Producers Responsibility' system that will be enforced under the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016. The public is becoming more conscious of the importance of sustainable production and consumption. This has prompted local governments to coordinate recycling collection, as well as some manufacturers to create recycled-content goods and other businesses to meet public demand.
